Fifty per cent of the population still have a mortgage and personal debts by the time they reach retirement, says money mentor Nobby Kleinman.
Speaking at a Monash Business Awards breakfast, Nobby said good planning could wipe years off debt and mortgage repayments, freeing up time and money to be invested for the future.
‘The biggest problem most people have is they don’t have a plan at all,’ Nobby said. ‘Live now and pay later is not a good plan.’
Nobby is the creator of Money Rules, a money management program providing an easy-to-follow road map to financial stability, regardless of income. Formerly a financial planner, Nobby said he developed the program in response to requests for simple money management guidance.
‘My goal is to help as many people as I can,’ Nobby said.
