When Anna Ronald attended a Monash Business Awards breakfast last year, she never expected it to be so fruitful.
Not only did her accountancy firm win the MBA’s Rising Star Award, she found the business that would complete the Your Synergy Team, a side gig that provides a single point
of contact for client’s legal and financial needs. By the end of the year, Sharrock Pitman Legal had joined Anna, financial planners Greythorn Financial Services and mortgage brokers Finance Sorted.
“The other businesses and myself had known each other for a few years,” Anna said. “We’d been searching for a while for a group that we felt comfortable referring to. Our personalities and methods of working needed to be aligned. When we met Dan (Saunders) from Sharrock Pitman and then Samuel (Ellemor) we all felt very comfortable. It felt quite relaxed, open, honest and reliable.”
No one earns referral fees from the collaboration. The reward, Anna says, is in the support and trust among the team, and in the enhanced ability to assist their individual clients.
“I had a couple of brand new clients myself and they asked me if I knew any good financial planners or good lawyers,” she said. “It becomes a trusted referral. A trusted relationship.”
With the first three company’s also meeting at networking events, Anna says she has the MBA to thank for completing the picture.
“It was a very eventful morning for me,” Anna said.
